Regency Duke of Wellington Doorstop

A cast iron doorstop or door keeper in the figure of the Duke of Wellington. Standing proud on a stepped base, the physiognomy of the man gives a clue as to his identity. Wellington famously sported a big nose. Dating to around 1820-30 this heavy doorstop is in remarkable condition with no cracks or chips to the ironwork. De-rusted and finished in stove blackener. Would look amazing in a Regency period home propping open your wonderful Georgian doors.
