Late 19C Surgeons Field Surgical Instruments

A black leather covered, purple velvet lined box with removable tray, containing a set of late 19C surgical instruments. This surgeons field kit features bone and ebony handled instruments with a variety of specialised blades, suturing needles - and clips to stem the flow of blood from minor vessels. This mismatch of instruments were manufactured by makers like Down of London and Ferris & Co of Bristol. Light tarnishing on some instruments. Chips & rubbed corners to the box.
