Late 19C Mano Figa Hand

A figa or fico hand shaped amulet. Carved dark wood with white metal ferrule, bracelet and finger nails. This style of Brazilian talisman was carried as a symbol of fertility, virility and good luck. Also known as a protective charm against the evil eye and witchcraft.
