SKU: 00769
£350.00Price
  • Item Specifics

A gargantuan wooden chest, dating from the early to mid-nineteenth century. European in origin - possibly French or Dutch. This massive trunk or chest is made from teak or oak - very heavy and extremely solid. A beautiful large engraved escutcheon surrounds the key hole. Sadly no lock, key or keep. Wrought iron cranked hinges support the lid. One handle is missing. The remaining handle is original and secured in the contemporary manner, by split pin. Four casters have been attached to the base in the past. We will leave them in-place for ease of movement - but can be easily removed. This chest would make a fabulous TV stand, coffee table, toy chest or for bedding. So many uses, and great for interior decoration.

    Height: 70cm Length: 164cm Width: 70cm
